Keep On Hoping

Keep On Hoping

We’ve all experienced disappointment, haven’t we? According to the New Combined Bible Dictionary and Concordance, the word disappointment is defined to deprive of hope, to fail to come up to expectation.

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Romans 4:18 (New International Version, NIV)

Abraham, against natural hope, believed in God’s hope; a supernatural hope. When we lose all hope in the natural, there is a “God hope” that will help us keep believing for and expecting a good outcome.

When we are disappointed, we need to get re-appointed. In other words, get another picture, hope, desire or dream for your life. When people or circumstances let us down, we must remember that God never will.

And this hope will never disappoint us. We know this because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us. Romans 5:5 (Easy-To-Read Version, ERV)

When we get a word from God, we need to be like Abraham. No matter what we have faced or will face, we know that God’s promises will come to pass. Get in the Word and get a word from God to stand on and dare to hope again- and keep on hoping.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:19 (New Living Translation, NLT)

When something fails or it’s not right for you, know God has something better for you. Don’t give up hope, but let hope be an anchor for your soul (your mind, will, and emotions)

  • Mind: Think right. Keep your thoughts on God in all circumstances.

  • Will: Choose right. Choose to do God’s will no matter what.

  • Emotions: Keep your peace (undisturbed composure) in every situation.

Know that God is working all things out for your good and for the best. Let time work for you, not against you. If things are taking longer to happen than you’d like, know that God is setting you up, orchestrating things on your behalf. It is true that good things come to those who wait- wait on God, that is. God is setting things up for your best outcome, for your comeback, for your breakthrough. Your life will be better than before.

Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Psalm 42:11 (Amplified Bible, AMP)

So, when you are disappointed, hope again in God. Remember what He has done for you before. He will do it once more. He will not fail you. He will fulfill His promises to you. Everything Jesus accomplished at the cross will be manifested in your life.

Hope is confident expectation that something good will happen to you. So, hope on in faith.
