Don't Believe the Lies

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. John 16:13 (New Living Translation, NLT)

We are in an information war right now. There is a false narrative being pushed right now regarding world events. It is intended to do two things: frighten us and distract us. Do not believe all the images you see being published. Do not believe the things that they tell you about world leaders and world events. Photos and videos can be altered to make things look the way they want them to. Words can be twisted and distorted to promote a lie. Even the very elect can be deceived if we listen to the wrong people.

Are people in harm’s way? Yes, they are. But we do not know the truth about why this is taking place or the real extent of the damages and the level of danger. The footage and other “evidence” we see does not tell us everything- it paints a certain picture that they want us to believe. I don’t have all the answers, but I know by the Spirit that what we are being shown is not the truth. There are deeper reasons for the things that are taking place right now. The people putting these things out have not been truthful about things in the past; why would they suddenly start to tell the truth now?

During this time of upheaval, we do not need to be afraid. God has promised to watch over us and protect us. He will do the same for His chldren around the world. The believer that is standing upon His Word will not be harmed. The events we are seeing take place will expose more of the evil agenda that has been set up to destroy the godly, and it will ultimately fail.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling. Psalm 91:7-9 (New International Version, NIV)

Destruction is about to hit the wicked of the earth, and we will not partake of it. We will only see it with our eyes- we will not experience it. We will be safe and our job is to pray that innocent people are not harmed.

Because there is so much false information being published, the best thing for us to to do is to keep our focus on the Lord and His Word- and not on the news. His Word is truth and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. There is much going on that they do not want us to see- much evil is coming out. The events happening in certain parts of the world have been set up as a distraction so we won’t pay attention to the truth that is being revealed.

Know that God has a plan and His plan always contains redemption in it. Stay in faith and refuse to fear. Keep your eyes open and alert to see what is being revealed about the wicked- because that’s where the real news is. Don’t be deceived by the headlines and don’t believe the lies. Truth is coming forth and God is taking care of business.
