The Fire of God is Coming

The Fire of God is Coming

“Now will I arise,” says the Lord. “Now will I be exalted; now will I be lifted up. You conceive chaff, you give birth to straw; your breath is a fire that consumes you. The peoples will be burned to ashes; like cut thornbushes they will be set ablaze.” You who are far away, hear what I have done; you who are near, acknowledge my power! The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless:“Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?” Isaiah 33:10-14 (New International Version, NIV)

Our God is a consuming fire. Fire does two things- it purifies and it consumes. For those who submit to the fire of God, they are purified- the impurities are brought to the surface and removed. For those who resist God, they are burnt up and destroyed.

The fire; the judgment; of God is coming. The Lord is very patient and longsuffering and offers people plenty of opportunity to repent and be spared. However, if they refuse, there comes a time when God allows His fire to fall and consume them. He is just, and justice demands that evil be rewarded with evil.

The Lord has been dealing with all of us- saved and unsaved. We must ask the Lord to search our hearts and show us anything that we need to repent of. When the fire comes, we will be able to stand if we have already separated ourselves from anything that is unclean or impure.

The wicked are feeling the fear of the coming fire. They can sense it. Terror is gripping their hearts and minds. God will not be messed with. He is serious about sin and about those who willfully harm others for their own promotion and profit. They are about to reap a fearsome harvest from the wicked seeds they have sown.

This post is short and very simple- yet urgent. Prepare for the fire. It is coming. The fire of God is about to fall- it is very close. Judgment is at hand. Those who have been purified will stand and watch the destruction of the wicked, but it will not harm them.
