Be Thankful

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4 (KJV)

As you know, today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States. The act of being thankful is a powerful thing. As we’re thankful to God, it opens the door for God to work in our lives. God can work with a thankful person. Gratitude touches the heart of God and He pours out blessings and abundance.

As we give thanks to the Lord, it lifts up the Lord and gives us a better attitude at the same time. When we live with our hearts filled with thanksgiving, leaving no room for a bad attitude to get in, we slam the door in the devil’s face and post a sign for him that says, “Not welcome- stay out!” Being thankful to the Lord leads to praising God, which then leads to worshiping Him.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15 (KJV)

A thankful life is a fruitful life. As we continue to give thanks, we give our allegiance to His Name, confessing His Name through praise and thanksgiving. Our sacrifice of praise is to the Lord, Who was the supreme Sacrifice given to save and bless us. Therefore, we’re thankful for all Jesus is, does, and will do for us.

To see the finished work of Jesus Christ begin to work in our lives, let’s give thanks to Him who makes all good things available to us.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
