Song of Songs- Part 3: True Worship is Kissing God

Song of Songs- Part 3: True Worship is Kissing God

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Song of Songs 1:2 (KJV)

Worship means to kiss towards. As we worship the Lord, we kiss His face and we let Him kiss ours, thus we experience the loves of God. God is love, yet He has many ways to express His love to and for us. Kiss means figuratively, to touch. The way He cares for us and touches us, helps us, heal us, holds us, provides for us- it is all an expression of Who He is- Love.

As we worship Jesus, we will feel the kiss of His presence. His presence is one way He kisses us to show that His love is always with us. It is an everlasting love.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 (KJV)

Remember, worship measn to kiss, so we are to kiss Him in spirit and truth.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Psalm 42:7-8 (KJV)

Deep (God’s Spirit) calls unto deep (man’s spirit). It is a call to worship- even in hard times. He gives us a song to worship Him. It enables us to worship Him in the day, when we experience His love, and in the night, in the dark times. And at all times, God’s song, the song of the Lord, is sung over us. And we then sing His song back to Him. The song keeps us through the night and then we add prayer to the mix. We intermingle our praise with prayer. This becomes a weapon against our enemies. Thus, we have a song to lift us up and a prayer to bring us breakthrough! Because of our love poured out on Him in worship, He breaks through in our lives to rescue us. The kiss of God lets us know we’re protected and in His care.

As our first scripture says, we’ll find that no wine, no substance, will ever compare to the love of God. His love is better than wine. Wine entraps and ensnares, but His love delivers.

God is our safety and salvation and He is the One who satisfies. As we worship Him, God kisses our lives with His goodness and we kiss His face with our sincere worship. And we taste and see and experience that God is good and God is love. As we worship, His many wonderful attributes are released and we epxerience more and more of God. And He enjoys our worship and relationship and we are kissed by the very mouth of God.
