You Are His Favorite

God loves you. He values each of us above anything and everything else He made. You are His child, His very own, and He adores you. Why else would He sacrifice His own Son, a part of Himself, so that you could be restored to fellowship with Him?

Our Heavenly Father thinks you are wonderful and He sees you the same way He sees Jesus- perfect. This is because we are in Christ and Christ is in us. There is nothing we need to do to get God to love us. And there is nothing that will make Him love us more. His love for us is already perfect and complete.

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV)

The Father treasures you. He enjoys spending time with you. And, He doesn’t just love you, He LIKES you. He created you unique, with your very own personality, talents, interests, and character traits. Each person is divinely crafted by God with an individual set of characteristics, designed to help that person fulfill his or her specfic assignment and calling. Just like your fingerprints or your DNA, you are custom-made by the Creator of the universe. And He loves what He has made- you are His masterpiece.

We are the crowning glory of creation. God does not regret making you, and He does not wish He made you differently. Look at yourself the way that He does. He sees a talented, beautiful, wise, and confident child of God. He sees you free from condemnation and self-doubt. He sees you free from habits and hang-ups. He sees you as successful in everything you do. He sees you as an overcoming victor, and never a victim. He sees you as His favorite child. Yes, I said He sees you as His favorite. Can God play favorites? Yes, because we are all His favorite. Whenever we approach our Father, He only sees His favored child, the One He loves without measure. It is hard for us to understand this in our natural human thinking, but you could say that every child of God is the favorite of the Father. He loves each and every one of us without reservation and without limit, as if we were His only child.

The next time you are tempted to think poorly of yourself or when you are inclined to doubt yourself, tell yourself, “I am my Daddy’s favorite.” You are- and don’t you forget it! Look in the mirror each morning and proclaim it. Describe out loud to yourself the awesome, wonderful person He made you to be- because God never makes mistakes. He created you, and He is in love with you.
