Come As You Are

Come As You Are

I will receive everyone; I will not send away anyone who comes to Me. John 6:37 (The Voice, VOICE)

Jesus says we can come as we are; with wounds and scars; with hurts, disappointments, fears and wrongs; with sins and failures. With Jesus, there’sa safe place. He won’t hurt or wrong us. Jesus won’t reject us, but will accept and welome us. Whether we are rich or poor, educated or not, famous or unknown, with a good reputation or bad one, Jesus does not discriminate. Regardless of social background, skin color or ethnicity, He is an equal opportunity Savior. No matter who we may be or what we may have done, Jesus loves us and cares about us.

Jesus has something good to offer everyone: a new life, a better life, a life worth living. When we come to Jesus, He accepts us with all our baggage and hang-ups. And as we come closer and closer to Him, we will find those hang-ups and old problems falling away as we become more like Him.

We belong with Jesus, our Savior, Caregiver, Good Shepherd and Friend who never leaves. With Him, we find freedom and love. We don’t have to prove anything to Him. He knows us and loves us anyway.

There are a lot of religions in the world and a lot of people who claim to have a way to heaven. However, all they offer is performance-based bondage and a vague notion that people might be able to earn their way to heaven. Only Jesus accepts us and offers transformation and a guarantee of eternal life that does not have to be earned. All we have to do to be accepted by Him is to simply accept Him as our Savior and Lord.

With Jesus there is peace and rest; no rejection- only acceptance. Come to Him.

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Put My yoke upon your shoulders—it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (The Voice, VOICE)
