Hearing God with your heart’s ear is an art that must be developed.
The heart is at the center of who we are. We believe with our hearts and love with our hearts. We do things with all our heart. Our heart is who we are. We must know God from our hearts. We must hear Him from our hearts. As we “tune up” our hearts, we hear God.
To develop the art of hearing God, we have to learn to listen. We must sit and tune in to God. The more we listen with our hearts for God’s voice, the more we will hear Him. As we pray, study God’s Word, and spend time with God, seeking His presence, waiting and listening for God, our hearts will hear God. We’ll develop the art of hearing Him speak to us to the point where it becomes supernaturally natural to us. Know God, hear God, and obey God from the heart.
After all, relationship with God is a heart issue. When you get saved, you get your heart right with God, and then you have a heart for God. It is a heart to hear God. You’ll have ears to hear. You’ll keep developing the art of hearing God, which leads to loving God, trusting God, obeying God, and walking with God with all your heart. And that’s the heart of the matter.
