It's All Nailed to The Cross

It's All Nailed to The Cross

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:14 (KJV)

Having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:14 (New International Version, NIV)

Jesus cancelled the record, the legal demands of the Old Testament Law that were opposing us. Because man was imperfect, he could not keep a holy law, so Jesus fulfilled the Law for us. That which was once held against us, the record of all our sins and all our guilty charges of not keeping the Law, was nailed to the cross by Jesus.

The Old Testament Law could not save us so Jesus fulfilled the Law for us. He fulfilled and nailed the requirements of the Law to His cross. Now, no law is held against us. God sees what Jesus has done for those who accept Him and His sacrifice, instead of seeing the Law and what we have not done to keep it.

Don’t let anyone or anything condemn you. Your judgment and condemnation have been nailed to the cross of Christ. We are dead with Christ and raised to new life. We have ascended with Jesus and are now seated with Christ in heavenly places. We are ruling over that which once opposed and condemned us. Jesus paid our debt in full, so we are now debt-free in Him. We’ve gone from sin to righteousness, from bondage to freedom, from death to life, and from cursed to blessed.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:15 (KJV)

Jesus also defeated the devil and his demons. He has set us free from every bondage to walk in freedom and newness of life. God doesn’t hold anything against us. Whom the Son sets free is really and truly free. Everything that held you back is now nailed to the cross, so walk in your freedom.
