Multiplication & Addition Over Division & Subtraction

Multiplication & Addition Over Division & Subtraction

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply… Genesis 1:27-28 (NKJV)

saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” Hebrews 6:14 (NKJV)

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, Acts 5: 14 (NKJV)

God is a good God, and the devil is a bad devil. While that may sound overly simplistic, we can often forget it and overlook the author of the situations in which we can find ourselves.

God is a God of growth and increase. He brings good, and adds good things to our lives. When we give our lives to him and follow Him with all our hearts, we experience Him adding blessing to our lives and multiplying the good things He’s already provided. We can see from the original blessing spoken over Adam and Eve in Genesis 1 that increase is part of God’s original will for mankind. There is no true downside to following God. He is all good, and all the good that we have has come from Him. It is His sincere desire to increase us more and more through multiplication and addition.

As we give, He will increase the seed we’ve sown, giving us a harvest that is multiplied times larger than what we gave. As we seek Him and His Word, He will increase our wisdom and knowledge. As we speak His Word and follow His directions, our outcomes are better and we experience greater health, wealth, and success. Let’s face it, God just wants to give us more and more of the good things He has!

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…. John 10:10 (NKJV)

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? I Corinthians 3:3 (NKJV)

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. James 3:16 (KJV)

On the other hand, the enemy’s strategy is to steal and take away. He tries to conquer through division, disunity, and loss. Like the Bible says, he is a thief. He deceives and creates confusion through strife and pitting us against one another and God. Anytime you experience strife in a relationship or loss in your life, satan has somehow found an access point to come in and cause trouble.

He enjoys subtracting from our lives. He targets our health, our prosperity, our relationships- you name it, he wants to steal it or destroy it. He is a liar, a thief, a cheat, and a killer. There is no good in him and the most wicked evil imaginable is what he thrives on.

choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24;15 (NKJV)

The wonderful thing is that we have a choice. We can choose whom we will serve. We can give our hearts and lives to Jesus and pursue God with everything in us, or we can choose, by default, to follow the devil. Unless you’re crazy or not too bright or just outright rebellious, the choice is clear- choose God and His multiplication and addition. When you do this with complete and total commitment, you will close the door to the devil and his ability to steal from you- and you will experience a life overflowing with the blessings of the Lord. I’ll choose multiplication and addition win over division and subtraction any day!
