According to God's Power

According to God's Power

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]— Ephesians 3:20 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)

This verse is amazing, and I have taken both of these versions and created my own paraphrase of it.

God is able to do beyond anything we can ask, pray, desire, hope, or dream, but it’s according to the power we allow to work in us, through us, and for us. Ephesians 3:20 (Jim Reish paraphrase)

Wow! What a promise! What potential! What a challenge! We can’t do this in our own strength, but by God’s help. As we begin to release God’s power to work for us by releasing the spoken Word of God, the Holy Spirit goes to work on our behalf. As we work with Holy Spirit by releasing our faith by the words we speak and by the corresponding actions we take, God begins to move.

Because our thinking and understanding are limited, so is our asking. Therefore, our prayers, desires, hopes, and dreams are limited. God has even more for us than our minds can come up with. So, we must go beyond our own thinking and take the limits off God. One way is by praying in the Holy Ghost. This allows Him to pray through us and with us to bring about all that God has for us.

Although we partner with God, it is His power at work that will bring to pass those things that beyond all that we can pray, hope, dream, or ask for. We may ask for a house, but God has a mansion for us, especially in heaven. God’s got more than we know of. We may think we want a certain thing, but God has something even bigger and better.

As we release God’s power through faith-filled words, nothing will be impossible. The proof of this is the fact that God’s power raised Jesus from the dead. God’s power can do anything for us except fail. Begin to put God’s power to work for all your prayers, hopes, desires, and dreams, and God will go beyond it all by His power. The same power that created all things will create all you need- and more than you need so you can bless others. You can experience God’s power again and again beyond anything you can ask, pray, hope, desire, or dream. It is God’s power and our faith working together to see all these things manifest in our lives.
