Faith Can Bridge the Gap

Faith Can Bridge the Gap

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Romans 4:18-24 (KJV)

God has made many promises to us, but it takes faith’s application to experience them. When we face pain, problems, heartache, loss, rejection, etc., it may seem like the promises of God are out of our grasp to understand or lay hold of. Faith says, “God’s Word is true,” but our pain says, “I don’t feel any better.” Our heart says, “God is faithful,” but our head says, “The circumstances have not changed.”

Faith will bridge the gap from the wilderness we find ourselves in to the promised land. We must begin to take steps of action to get from where we are to where we want to be. Faith prays. Faith praises. Faith gives thanks. Faith speaks God’s Word. Faith acts. Do what God tells you to do based on His Word. Don’t pay attention to what fear tells you that you cannot do. Fear, doubt, and unbelief will tell you everything you can’t do or everything that won’t happen- but they are liars. Faith tells us that Jesus already paid the price, and what has been promised to us is already ours.

As we base our faith on Scripture and take steps of action, believing in our hearts and speaking God’s Word with our mouths, He will empower us to do what we need to do. In other words, do what seems impossible, and as you take steps, the impossible becomes possible because God gets involved.

And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. Joshua 3:15-16 (KJV)

Israel could not cross over the Jordan River. On their own they could not part the waters, but as they took a step and ut their feet in the water, God moved and parted the water. What looked insurmountable became easy as they walked across on dry ground. Faith bridged the gap from where they were to where they wanted to be.

Debt can be an obstacle, but as we give, we will cross over into abundance. Sickness can be a hindrance, but as we pray in faith and release God’s healing power, sickness is removed off of us and out of our lives. Faith is believing God and His Word based on our knowledge of God- who He is and what He can and has done. Remember, He already freely gave us Jesus, the Guarantee that all of God’s promises are for us. As we mix faith with the promises, by believing, speaking, and acting in accordance with the Word, He will watch over His Word to bring it to pass.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 (KJV)

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. II Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
