Arise and Cross Over

Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again. Mark 10:1 (NKJV)

Jesus left Capernaum, and headed towards Judea, crossing the Jordan River.

We have to arise from where we are, to come into a place God where intends for us to be. If we want to do what God has for us to do, we have to arise and go where He leads. In the case of Jesus, He had to leave Capernaum and cross the Jordan to reach people that God had there for Him to teach.

The Jordan River wasn’t always easy to cross. At times it reached flood stage and could be dangerous. In whatever assignment God gives us, we can’t let anything hold us back, even if it looks a bit scary. We must cross over each obstacle to reach our destination.

No matter how things look, if God wants us to go somewhere, we must go and trust that God will get us to our destination safely. We must arise and go forward to enter into what God has lined up for us so we can continue to share the Gospel with others.

Jesus taught there in the region of Judea before moving on to Jericho. This was His last trip from Galilee before going to the cross. God had people there that specifically needed to hear what Jesus had to say and the window of opportunity to do would not remain open forever. It was strategic timing. We have to be obedient to do what God puts in front of us and do it when He instructs us to. It may involve crossing over difficult places, but if we are obedient, we will always end up where the Lord wants us, doing what He wants us to do.
