God Doesn't Find Fault

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 (New International Version, NIV)

When you don’t know what to do, ask God for wisdom. Wisdom is knowing what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Wisdom isn’t knowledge; it’s the understanding of how to use knowledge. When we ask for wisdom, God gives it generously, so we have more than enough for the situation, and then extra left over to help others.

Notice that this verse tells us God doesn’t find fault when we need help. When we mess up, make a mistake, miss God’s direction, or just have no clue what to do to fix a problem or get out of a difficult place, we may feel condemned. Go to God for help no matter how you feel. He won’t find fault with you. As a matter of fact He’ll be pleased that you went to Him for assistance.

God won’t ridicule or belittle you. He’ll give you the wisdom you requested. He’ll provide the answers you need so you know what to do or not to do. You’re not bothering God when you go to Him. He welcomes us with open arms and wants us to run to Him in times of trouble or confusion. God extends grace, not guilt. God gives wisdom, not worry. God will help, not hurt.

Whatever it is that we may lack, God has it, and He will lovingly and willingly give it to us when we ask.
