Keep Witnessing Anyway

Keep Witnessing Anyway

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. Mark 4:3-8 (KJV)

Jesus told this parable of a sower who sowed seed into four different types of soil, or ground. The four types of ground were: wayside, stony, thorny, and good. The sower represents both Jesus and us. The ground represents the hearts of people and the condition of their hearts. The seed is the Word of God.

As believers, we sow the Word in various places into hearts with a variety of different conditions. The soil of the heart dictates the success of the seed in growing and producing a harvest. Some will receive the Word, and some will reject it. The Word was sown and all had an opportunity to receive it. The results are based on the condition of one’s heart, not on the sower or the seed.

God’s Word always produces when received, believed, and acted upon. As sowers, we must continue to sow the Word (Jesus), even when people don’t accept Him. We must remember that some won’t receive Him, but some will. Don’t stop sowing just because some reject the Seed.

This parable shows us that although many things come to steal the Word that’s been sown, when the heart is right, the enemy will not be able to steal the Word away. So, pray and let God lead you to the people whose hearts are ready to receive the Word. Remember that some sow, some water, but God gives the increase. Keep witnessing, even though some reject it. It’s not us they are rejecting, but God.

Keep sowing God’s Word in people’s hearts. As they receive it, it will bring forth a harvest- 30, 60, and 100 fold. When we sow it, God will grow it.
