Putting the Enemy Where He Belongs- Part 2

Putting the Enemy Where He Belongs- Part 2

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19 (KJV)

As we mentioned yesterday, we are to tread upon our enemies. God has clothed and supplied us with weapons to stand our ground and to advance to take more ground.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:11-18 (KJV)

Through the whole armor of God, we put the enemy under our feet and keep him there. By our salvation; knowing who we are in Christ, and by the belt of truth that holds the whole armor in place, we wage a good warfare against satan. We must know the truth to defend truth. We wear the breastplate of righteousness because we are right with God- and we enforce our rights so the enemy deos not steal them. The Bible is our spiritual Declaration of Independence. And the Bible is also the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Read the Bible and know what your rights are- then do what it says!

Our feet are shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace- to protect us as we move ahead and advance over the enemy, taking territory. Our steps are sure because Jesus Christ has given us perfect peace as we look to Him. We take the shield of faith to protect us. As we use our faith- believing, speaking, and doing God’s Word, it will quench all the attacks of the enemy. Instead of being under attack, we are on the attack. We are not backing up, but moving foward to take what’s ours. It is faith that takes- and takes- and takes.

With our helmet of salvation, our minds are renewed and protected. We can take all that belongs to us through salvation in Jesus Christ. Our thought life is protected because we think with the mind of Christ. We overcome every mental attack by the Sword of the Spirit, which is the spoken Word of God. We speak the specific word we hear God speak to our situation- a word to know what, when, and how to do what we need to do. We receive it by the Spirit of the Lord with all kinds of prayer, especially praying in the Spirit; praying in tongues.

We use the entire armor God has given us to put the enemy right where he belongs- under our feet. The devil and his demons and all who follow him are totally defeated with the power and authority Jesus gave to us. We tread on them, trample them, and totally destroy their plans. Thus, we are possessing the land!
