The Importance of Blessing Israel

The Importance of Blessing Israel

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3 (KJV)

God said this to Abram, whose name God changed to Abraham. Whenever God wants to do something in your life, He calls you who He made you to be in order to fit your destiny. If you are sick, He calls you well. If you’re broke, He calls you blessed. And so on. In this case He blessed Abraham, who was the father of the Jewish nation. And we are to do as the Lord does.

As we bless Israel, God will bless us. The one who curses Israel provokes a curse on himself. God blesses the families of the earth through Israel- in every way. The ultimate blessing that has come through Israel is Jesus. He came from Israel through a covenant promise. So, salvation came through the Jews.

The more we bless Israel, the more the Lord blesses us.If you are facing trouble, find a way to give to benefit Israel, and God will bless you by turning things around for you.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good. Psalm 122:6-9 (KJV)

We are to pray for peace in Jerusalem. That city has been attacked and fought over more than any city on earth. As we love Jerusalem, which means the city of peace, we will find peace. It comes from the Hebrew word for peace, shaloam, which literally means nothing missing, nothing broken- safety, protection, wholeness in all areas of life. As we love Jerusalem, we will propser no matter what- God will see to it. The more we pray for and decree peace and prosperity over Jerusalem, the more we will receive the same. As we seek the best for Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jewish people, God will make sure that good comes to us.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:34-40 (KJV) emphasis mine

This passage speaks of judgment of the nations, and we will be rewarded based on how we treat the Jewish people, Jesus’ brethren. The way we treat Israel is basically the way we are treating Jesus- whether good or bad- and He will deal with us accordingly. The more we bless the Jews, the more we are blessing Jesus. We can’t claim to love Jesus while hating the Jewish people. As we feed the Jewish people who are hungry, give drink to those who are thirsty, clothe them, give them shelter, and visit their sick or imprisoned, we do it for Jesus.

There is no way around it. As we are kind to and bless the nation of Israel, Jesus will, in turn, bless us. When we bless the Jewish people, God releases favor, blessing, peace, and protection to us.
