The Law of the Spirit of Life- Part 1

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 (KJV)

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11 (KJV)

Jesus, in His earthly ministry, said He had power to lay His life down and to raise it up, speaking of His death and resurrection. By the words of His mouth, He released the law of the Spirit of life to bring that statement to pass. The law of the Spirit of life “lifed” Jesus back to life.

Jesus never sinned, so sin and death could not legally claim Him or hold Him. The law of the Spirit of life was working to resurrect Him. Thus, the law of the Spirit of life dominated the law of sin and death ( and it still does).

All sin, misery, sickness, bondages, lack, or any failure or defeat are part of the curse and are the results of the law of sin and death. But, the same Spirit that “lifed” Jesus back to life will also “life” us, no matter whether the issue is in, sickness, bondage, etc. No matter the cause, the cure is greater. No matter the curse, the blessing is stronger.

Jesus being raised from the dead is our guarantee that we too can be healed, blessed, delivered, and have any need met. Death brings an end to things, but the Spirit of life brings a new beginning and the promise of better things.

As we speak God’s Word by God’s Spirit, the Spirit will bring that word to pass, just as He did for Jesus. Jesus’ triumph is our guarantee. His blood gives us better promises based on a better covenant, the one cut by the body and blood of Christ. As we command, declaring who Christ is and His finished works, the life of Christ will “life” us.

As we partake if His life, as we believe in His body and blood, we receive the very life that “lifed” Him. We’ll walk in victory over sin and death by the law of the Spirit of life that’s in Christ Jesus.
