A Time of The New

The things announced in the past—look—they’ve already happened, but I’m declaring new things. Before they even appear, I tell you about them. Isaiah 42:9 (Common English Bible, CEB) emphasis mine

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 (New Living Translation, NLT) emphasis mine

I know it sounds a bit corny- like someone trying to create a cute little rhyme- but many are proclaiming the word for 2022 is NEW. Things will be NEW IN ‘22. And Jim and I have discerned the same thing. We believe that 2022 will bring new things for the body of Christ and for the world at large.

As the Scriptures indicate above, God likes to tell us when he is about to do something new. He likes to announce that He’s bringing new things to us. The prophets have been proclaining good things, new things for the coming year. We can be encouraged and excited that we are entering the new.

Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed. II Chronicles 20:20 (New Living Translation, NLT)

When we choose to believe the word of proven prophets of God, we are assured of success. God likes to tell us of things to come- to show that he is God and that He knows what the future holds for us. When prophets tell us of the future, God is declaring that He is in our future and that He already has a handle on things. God gives us a sneak peak of the things to come to encourage us and to prepare us. And when He does, we can be assured that what He has said will happen.

I believe that 2022 will be a time of the new- in every way imaginable. Our God is a God of newness and the coming year will bring many good and new things to our lives. Be excited and be in anticipation; the new is here!
