Racing to Reach Them

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. The Bible tells us to reach all people with the Gospel. The question is, who will reach them? Will those who know Christ step up and step out to take the message of the cross to the unsaved? Or will we sit back and do nothing?

By reaching people with the salvation message, we can impact their mindsets, beliefs, world views, and future actions. Consider what may have happened if someone had reached Adolf Hitler. Instead of the millions of deaths he caused, there may have been a very different outcome from his life and his influence. He could have changed the world for good. Contrast that with Billy Graham. Someone reached him with the Gospel, and look at the impact that Graham and his ministry had worldwide.

There is a race to reach all mankind for God. We must go and compel them to come in. We must do all, give all, to reach all. Jesus paid the ultimate price to reach us. How can we complacently sit around and do nothing to reach those He died to save?

The ones we win will determine the world we’ll live in while we are here on earth. Let’s do everything we can to bring in the lost so they can be saved and transformed. As a result, we will see the world and its situation changed as well.
