Let The Lord Lead

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. Romans 8:14 (World English Bible, WEB)

The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, will lead us if we will but listen, obey, and follow. Here’s a simple, yet practical example from my own life.

I received a prophetic Word from a minister that said that as I was sensitive to the Lord, I would get an affirmation to go in a certain direction (or not), to take a certain step (or not). Shortly after this, I was at work and looked down at a safety mat. The mat had the words “watch your step” on it, and I was immediately reminded of the word I had received. In addition, God has told me over and over to watch my step with people- especially those at work. Through this mat, God was leading me and reminding me how to carry myself and how to respond in certain situations. He led me in things to do and things not to do. When I followed the wisdom He was giving me about relationships, I was able to use this in my workplace. When we get a Word from God, He wants us to apply it to our lives.

As the Holy Spirit shows us things and gives us insight into people, places, purposes, and situations, He expects us to follow His direction. When we do, we will see awkward circumstances alleviated, strained relationships mended, and things will turn around for us. God wants to lead us in the big and small things, so let’s follow Him step by step.
