Hold Fast; You Can Make It

Hold Fast; You Can Make It

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)

God wants us to see that we have Jesus, our Great High Priest in heaven going to bat for us. He is a High Priest that knows and understands our struggles for He already went through the things we are going through. He sees and knows the temptations we face. So, we need to keep confessing God’s Word. We must speak faith and victory instead of our problems. We need to give Jesus something to work with as our High Priest.

When tempted, speak the Word. Don’t allow your negative feelings to keep you from coming to Jesus. Come boldly, without shame, to ask confidently for mercy and grace. To receive mercy, there is a mercy seat in heaven. We can come boldly to it. It is a throne of grace, not of judgment or a place where you’ll be beaten down when you sin or struggle.

Jesus made it all the way to heaven for us so we can make it too.. Jesus knows how to get you to your destiny. As we speak forth God’s Word, Jesus the High Priest takes that word and confesses it to God. That produces mercy and grace and strength for us. As a result, we are able to overcome temptation, weaknesses, and the traps of the enemy. We receive grace and strength to fulfill our call. Speaking God’s Word releases Jesus the High Priest to work on our behalf. Instead of saying, “Jesus, don’t You care what I’m going through?” our confession of faith tells Him we know that He knows and cares.

Jesus went through everything we go through. His making it to heaven is a guarantee that if we hold fast to our confession, we will make it too. Hold onto the Word. Speak the Word. As you do, Jesus is right now standing before the Father speaking that very Word to Him. And His grace will keep you until the day you stand with Him in heaven.
