Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. Jeremiah 1:4-6 (KJV)
What if you always wanted to be someone else; someone different than who you are? What if God made you to be who He had planned, and you struggled your whole life with accepting who you are? What if you wasted your time trying to be someone else or do something you were never called to do? What if you spent a lot of time and energy and you lost who you were really meant to be by trying to please people? What if you did everything you could to blend in when God made you to stand out?
We waste a lot of time pursuing other people’s identities and callings. All the striving against who the Lord has created us to be only serves to make us dislike ourselves, rejecting and hating ourselves. And think- all along, God has loved you for you; He’s accepted you for who you are. He has not looked at your mistakes or bad choices, but at who He made you to be. He loves you and just wants you to be yourself.
What if, you just accept who God made you to be and do what He has put in your heart to do? You would be more fulfilled and happier. You would experience less stress and more peace of mind. What if you decided to let God have His way with you, and allow Him to make you into the person He wanted you to be all along? Your life would go in the direction God planned for you since before the foundation of the world, and you would fulfill your God-given destiny.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24 (New Living Translation, NLT)
