If It Doesn't Fit, Don't Force It

If It Doesn't Fit, Don't Force It

But now [as things really are], God has placed and arranged the parts in the body, each one of them, just as He willed and saw fit [with the best balance of function]. I Corinthians 12:18 (Amplified Bible, AMP)

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. Colossians 3:15 (Amplified Bible, AMP)

When something doesn’t fit properly, we need to move on to something that is a better fit. Think of trying on shoes. If you try to make shoes fit that really don’t, they end up hurting you. They are not compatible with your feet, and you can’t stand, walk and move like you should.

When something doesn’t fit, don’t force it- whether it’s a friendship, job, church, place to live, and so on. When we realize something doesn’t fit, it is time to find out what does fit so you can pursue it instead. When something fits, you don’t have to force it because it will feel right to you. You will like it, and it will allow you to move, flow, and function the way God intended you to. It will fit into place and it will allow you to be yourself.

God has the right place, right people, and right purposes for you. Sometimes you just have to take the time to find them. When you find the right fit, it feels right- like putting a round peg in a round hole. It feels like it was made for you.

Finding our fit helps us to know what God wants us to be and do and where He wants us. So, if you are in a place that you know is not the right fit for you, get out there and seek the right one. As you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, He will put you where He wants you. This will produce peace and joy, and you will fit right in.
