Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. Psalm 90:1-2 (New Living Translation, NLT)

These verses say that the Lord is our home. The King James Version refers to it as our dwelling place. He is the place of safety where He is with us to care for, love, protect, and provide for His people.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; Acts 17:28 (KJV)

When you feel homeless, like you just don’t fit in or belong, it’s because you aren’t supposed to. This world is not our home. We’re only at home when we’re at home with God. God is our shelter- a place where we remain, abide, live, and dwell. We live in Him and He in us.

And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway. Exodus 25:30 (KJV)

In the tabernacle and in the temple of God, there was a piece of furniture called the Table of Shewbread, where the shewbread was placed. Shewbread has also been referred to as the bread of His presence. As you feed on God’s Word, you feed on the bread of His presence.

So, get comfortable being with God and live in His presence by abiding in His Word and allowing His Word to abide in you. Spend time seeking God in prayer and worship. That’s how we make our home with God. He will be our dwelling place, our home, forever. When you find God, you’ve found your home.
