Today Can Be the Day

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:… But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin…. While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation… Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Hebrews 3:7-8, 13, 15, 4:7 (KJV) emphasis mine

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Hebrews 4:2 (KJV)

The word today carries such promise, such hope. No matter where you are, you can come out and be where God has promised- right now, today.

Today is an opportunity to get things right with God, to obey Him, to follow Him- to enter into a place with Him where promises are fulfilled. It’s a place where you find rest- your promised land of provision, blessing, and abundance. It is a place of inheritance, and it is available now.

Today is the time to listen, hear, and make a choice to mix faith with God’s Word. Receive Gods’ finished work of redemption. Cease from your own works that don’t work. Christ’s finished work brings rest, not more labor. As we believe, we enter into God’s rest. We go from striving, fighting, and never obtaining to a place of believing, receiving, resting, and rejoicing in all God has provided.

Today marks a new day, a better day- a God day! As we choose to hear, believe and obey God, we will experience everything He’s said we can. What a great day today can be!
