The Care Cure

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

The word supplication in this verse means petition, or a definite request. Ask God for what you need. Don’t worry about it but pray about it. God has given us prayer so we can receive those things we need, want, and desire- if we have a scriptural basis for what we request.

Need

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

Want

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

Desire

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 (KJV)

Make your request, then stand until it happens- by giving thanks to God. If what you’ve been believing God for has not come to pass yet, wait for it. Do not settle for less than God’s best: the promises of God fulfilled in your life. Prayer and thanksgiving combined together form something that I like to call “The Care Cure.” By prayer, we cast care on God, and through thanksgiving, we receive from Him what He has promised.

Prayer refers to a close exchange. Give God your worries and receive His peace and provision. Receive and stay in peace. Why? Because you know God heard your prayer- based upon your faith in His Word.

If you are sick- don’t settle for just dealing with your symptoms or accepting just a partial manifestation of health. You will be healed because the Word says so. If you are broke, know that God’s blessings are on the way because He has promised it. As you are waiting, thank God for Who He is, what He has done, and what He will do. Through faith and patience we inherit the promises. If you don’t give up and don’t settle, you will have exactly what God has promised.
