You Are a Gift

You are a gift from God... to God...and to others.  So, as a gift, you are to give your life away to Him, other people, and yourself. You can be the gift that keeps on giving, as you love others.

God so loved us that He gave us the best and greatest gift- Jesus.  To allow our lives to be gifts, we must give away all we can of love, forgiveness, time, energy, finances, understanding, etc.  Give of yourself in the words you say- words to encourage, instruct, give life, and bless.  Give of yourself in the things you do.

You are a gift that God has gifted.  As you grow in God, your gifting will grow as well.  Take everything God has gifted you with and use it to advance God's Kingdom.  Use your giftings to bring others to the Gift-giver, Jesus. And be careful to always give glory to God for the giftings you have and the gift you are.

As Christians, we live to give and we give to live.  It is a part of our reborn nature.  If you claim to be a Christian but do not want to give of yourself, there is something seriously wrong.  There is living in the giving.  We gain so much more in giving of ourselves than we can lose.  The more you give, the greater you become as the gift God made you to be.  In other words, walking in the servant-love that Jesus walked in makes you great in the Kingdom.

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”  Mark 9:35 (NIV)

I tell my wife that she is a gift to me, meaning that she blesses my life and helps me in so many ways.  She is a gift from God and she just keeps on giving to me.

You may have heard the saying, "Life is God's gift to you, but what you do with your life is your gift to God."  Be the gift God made you to be.  That, dear believer, is the true meaning of re-gifting.
